After witnessing beaten and bound Paul and Silas display faith through prayer and songs of praise, a Philippian jailer asked the question, "What must I do to be saved?"

Years later millions have asked that same question, but unfortunately, millions more still have not. Perhaps they think the answer is so complex that they couldn't possibly do it. But the Apostle Paul's answer to the jailer was simply, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31)

To the Romans Paul said, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

A Simple Prayer of Confession and Belief

Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. I'm sorry for all the sins I have committed and I ask forgiveness from you. Father, I believe that Jesus is your Son. I believe He died, was buried and was resurrected on the third day to provide salvation and eternal life to all who call upon His name. I call upon the name of Jesus and I invite Him into my life as Lord and Savior. Amen

Congratulations, YOU ARE SAVED! Welcome into the family of God.

Now that you are saved, you should consider doing the following to grow spiritually in your new relationship:

  1. Find a church where the Minister is God-fearing, Spirit-Filled and preaches the uncompromised Word of God.

"And Philip said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? (Acts 8:30-31)

  2. Publicly profess your faith through baptism, which is the outward expression of your inner change.

"What doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And they went down both into the water, and Philip baptized him." (Acts 8:36-38)

  3. Read, study your Bible, and pray to God daily.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (II Tim. 2:15)

"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." (Jer. 29:13)

  4. Fellowhip regularly with your new spiritual family.

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Heb. 10:25)

You're always welcome to fellowship with us at Providence Family Ministries.

"That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ." (I Jn. 1:3)

May God richly bless you!
